Castell d’Or Imperial Gran Reserva, Gold Medal in the Decanter Awards

The Group has picked up a total of five medals in the prestigious British awards

The Castell d’Or Group, a high-profile producer of high-quality cavas, has received major recognition at the Decanter World Wine Awards.  Its cavas have been awarded five medals in this prestigious international competition. The Cava Castell d’Or Imperial Gran Reserva Brut Nature 2018 picked up a Gold medal. In addition, Castell d’Or received three Silver medals and one Bronze medal for other wines in its range.

The 2024 awards:

  • GOLD MEDAL with 95 points: Castell d’Or Imperial Gran Reserva Brut Nature 2018
  • SILVER MEDAL with 91 points: Castell d’Or Brut Imperial
  • SILVER MEDAL with 90 points: Flama d’Or Brut Rosé
  • SILVER MEDAL with 90 points: Flama d’Or Brut
  • BRONZE MEDAL with 88 points: Cabaret Brut Organic

The Decanter World Wine Awards is one of the most prestigious and respected competitions in the world of wine and cava. The winners are selected through a rigorous evaluation process conducted by a panel of internationally recognised experts. This recognition is a testament to the excellence and expertise of Castell d’Or in the production of cavas of the highest quality.

In response to this outstanding achievement, Jordi Amell, Castell d’Or’s CEO, said: “We are very proud of these awards in the UK market and of the progress we have made, significantly improving our position compared to previous years.” Amell added, “this award recognises our passion and efforts to craft excellent cavas, made in our land, and with a distinctive character that sets us apart ie Spanish and international markets”.

Castell d’Or, the union of 16 cooperatives in the Catalan territory

Castell d’Or was created in 2006 from the union of different cooperatives that work the land with passion and respect. There are currently a total of 16 wineries that are part of one of the most representative groups in Catalonia. They work together, combining their efforts and knowledge in the production, packaging, and distribution of wines, cava, and olive oils, raising the standard of quality of their products to obtain recognition and prestige for their brands around the world.
