Vila-rodona, November 2, 2022.- The Castell d’Or group has been awarded a gold medal in the latest edition of the Concurs Sélections Mondiales des vins Canada. The contest took place in the city of Montreal from October 13 to 15, 2022. This edition achieved the highest participation in history, with a total of 1,705 wines from 29 countries.
It is not the first time that this prestigious contest which takes place in Montreal recognizes wines of Castell d’Or. In 2020 and in 2021, it was Castell d’Or cava Brut that won a golden prize. Castell d’Or Brut Organic cava is a blend of Xarel·lo, Macabeo and Parellada grape varieties. It is an expressive and aromatic cava, with notes of tropical and white fruit. It is aged in our cellars for a minimum of fourteen months and is distinguished by its pleasant minerality. Elegant, fine, and balanced this cava perfectly pairs with the aperitif as well as with the main dish or with dessert. It refreshes and awakes your palette.
“This award is one of the benchmarks in the American market” says Castell d’Or’s CEO, Jordi Amell. He remarks that “our Castell d’Or Brut Organic cava is a sparkling wine very representative of this region. It is made from autochthon grape varieties, using practices typical of our territory and with a firm commitment to organic agriculture that is increasingly requested by the consumer. We are very satisfied to know that our effort receives an award of international level” – adds Mr Amell.
In fact, this contest is one of the largest and one of the most prestigious in North America. In this 2022, the members of the jury made the selection, after four intense days of tasting. The recognition of the Sélections Mondiales Contest is growing and its results are increasingly considered in the North American market.
