This medal is added to the Gold Medal won at the Decanter Awards

The Castell d’Or group has been recognised with a gold medal at the 31st Concours Mondial de Bruxelles with their Castell d’Or Brut Nature Gran Reserva Cava. Nearly thirty years of experience have allowed the competition to become a reference in international wine contests.

At the beginning of July, in Alghero (Sardinia), more than 900 sparkling wines from around the world competed for medals at the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles, Sparkling Wine Session. In total, around 50 international tasters awarded Silver, Gold, and Grand Gold medals to wines from 24 countries. Among these references, the Castell d’Or Brut Nature Cava stood out, winning a Gold Medal. This recognition adds to the recent and prestigious award received at the Decanter Awards, accumulating 95 points.

For his part, the General Manager of Castell d’Or, Jordi Amell, wanted to highlight this award because “It’s a pride that competitions with such international prestige and demand recognise one of the cavas we produce in our territory with a gold medal that accredits the quality levels of our wines and becomes an international loudspeaker to make them known,” he explained.

A great reserve of DO Cava

The Castell d’Or Brut Nature Gran Reserva Cava, produced by the Traditional Method, requires a minimum of 48 months of ageing to develop its full potential and become a Gran Reserva Cava of DO Cava with an excellence that has distinguished it in various international competitions. This long bottle ageing allows the Cava to develop unique depth and aromatic richness: toasted bread, beeswax, notes of dried apricots, and hints of honeysuckle. The prolonged ageing also enhances its creamy texture and fine bubbles, providing a refined and persistent tasting experience.

This success reflects Castell d’Or’s commitment to quality, innovation, and sustainability. As a 21st-century cooperative company, we constantly work to improve our techniques and adapt to new market demands, always maintaining the tradition and essence of our wines.

It is worth noting that the Concours highlights that as the largest showcase of the diversity of Spanish viticulture, it achieves, in addition to golds and silvers, 18 Grand Gold Medals, placing Spain just behind France and ahead of Italy for the quality of its wines.
