Three of the submitted Cavas win Gold in this competition

Castell d’Or has been awarded five medals at the MUNDUS VINI 2025 International Competition, held in Germany during its spring edition. The group earned three gold medals and two silver medals, highlighting the quality of its cavas in this prestigious international event.

The awarded wines come from a total of 37 different countries, including emerging origins like Poland and the Netherlands. Nearly 250 wine experts from 55 countries attended the six-day tasting held at the traditional Saalbau in Neustadt/Weinstraße, located in the heart of Germany’s second-largest wine-growing region, the Palatinate.

The CEO of Castell d’Or, Josep Amell, expressed his satisfaction with this recognition, emphasizing the tireless dedication of the winemakers and production teams in creating exceptional quality products with a unique personality. “Our cavas represent the essence of the Cava region, capturing the charm of our terroir, tradition, and the innovation we strive to incorporate into our processes,” Amell stated.

The MUNDUS VINI International Wine Competition, founded by the leading publisher in the wine industry, Meininger Verlag, is one of the most prominent wine competitions in the world. Its importance is reflected in the participation of thousands of references from around the globe and a jury made up of enologists, sommeliers, specialized retailers, journalists, and internationally renowned scientists.

These awards consolidate, for the sixth consecutive year, the recognition of Castell d’Or’s cavas in the European market, reaffirming their commitment to excellence and the wine-growing tradition of the region.

Each of the awarded cavas has its own personality:

  • Cossetània Cava Brut Reserva: Made from a blend of Xarel·lo, Macabeu, and Parellada, this cava features a fine, persistent bubble. Fresh and elegant with aromas of wildflowers and toasted notes.
  • Cabaret Cava Brut: This cava stands out for its freshness and vivacity. It is a fresh cava, with hints of quince, light toasted and pastry notes.
  • Mas Geroni Cava Brut: Characterized by its elegance and complexity, this cava offers aromas of ripe fruit with subtle notes of nuts and pastry. On the palate, it is creamy, with good structure and a persistent finish.
  • Castell d’Or Cava Brut: This cava has a fine, consistent bubble. On the nose, it reveals aromas of yeast, bread, and pastry. On the palate, it is fresh, balanced, and has a pleasant aftertaste.
  • Cabaret Cava Brut Reserva: With extended aging, this cava develops complex aromas of floral and honey notes. On the palate, it is broad, with a silky texture and a long finish.

These characteristics reflect Castell d’Or’s commitment to quality and tradition in the crafting of their products.
