In the context of International Women’s Day, Castell d’Or joins with the support of the Chamber of Commerce of Valls to organize an exclusive event: a Cava pairing featuring the prominent participation of sommelier Anna Vicens, President of the Catalan Association of Sommeliers. During this exclusive tasting, Vicens will briefly share the fundamental role of women in the world of cava and wine, exploring their evolution throughout history. Additionally, she will reveal the keys to identifying and enjoying excellent cava, as well as the secrets of its production using the traditional method.
The Chamber of Commerce of Valls supports the solidarity wine tasting and advocates for the essential role of women in the business and managerial spheres. This organization aims to recognize and celebrate the talent, dedication, and strength of women in the world of business and entrepreneurship.
Anna Vicens, with an impeccable professional trajectory since her graduation as a sommelier in 1997 from the School of Restoration and Hospitality of Barcelona. Currently, she serves as the coordinator and Head Sommelier of Wine Palace stores. Additionally, she has been the president of the Catalan Association of Sommeliers since 2016, establishing herself as a prominent figure in the world of wine and cava.
The proceeds generated by this activity will be entirely allocated to Llar Natalis, an organization dedicated to assisting pregnant women at risk of social exclusion and mothers with babies who require support. This tasting not only celebrates the success and influence of women in the world of wine but also contributes to a charitable cause. Castell d’Or was born in 2005 from the union of different wineries from different wine regions of Penedès, Conca de Barberà , Priorat, Tarragona, Terra Alta, and Montsant. There are currently a total of 16 wineries that are part of one of Catalonia’s most representative groups. They work together, combining their efforts and knowledge in the production, packaging and distribution of wines, cavas, and olive oils, raising the standard of quality of their products to obtain recognition and prestige for their brands around the world.
