The 16 cooperatives that make up the Castell d’Or Group have just brought in a harvest of grapes of exceptional quality and an optimal alcohol level, factors that promise the production of wines and cavas with a distinctive personality and great character.

After three years of drought, 2025 was characterised by favourable weather conditions, with rainfall that was more regular and abundant than the historical average, helping to offset some of the accumulated water deficit. The native varieties adapted remarkably well, and the absence of disease ensured the grapes remained in impeccable health. This has resulted in full ripening, both alcoholic and phenolic, guaranteeing top-quality wines.

The harvest has been short but of outstanding quality, with optimal phenolic maturity, balanced acidity and a high alcohol level: ideal conditions for producing wines and cavas with character and elegance,” explains Jordi Amell, CEO of the Castell d’Or Group.

The quality level of cava has been monitored at all times. The Regulatory Board (CAVA D.O.) has implemented a control system with real-time input of both qualitative and quantitative data to ensure traceability, a key requirement of the Board.

In the 2025 harvest, Castell d’Or has reaffirmed its commitment to organic viticulture, which continues to grow as the cooperatives move forward in their ongoing process of transition. In 2025, Castell d’Or can confirm that 40% of its total production is certified organic, following the successful conversion of a large part of the vineyards over the past three years, with expectations of significantly increasing this figure next year. It is also worth highlighting that, for the first time, the entire production of the Penedès D.O. is organic, marking a significant step forward in the commitment to sustainability.

The group reaffirms its commitment to sustainability, origin and excellence, and remains dedicated to implementing measures that will further strengthen these values in the years to come.

Amell also highlights “the value of the knowledge and dedication of the group’s winegrowers and technicians, whose work makes it possible to enhance the local varieties and give the wines their distinctive character. The 2025 harvest therefore translates into an excellent vintage for all the group’s cooperatives, located in Penedès, Conca de Barberà, Alt Camp and Les Garrigues, consolidating Castell d’Or as a benchmark in the production of high-quality wines and cavas.
