During the visit, President Aragonès toured the facilities and had the opportunity to firsthand experience the production process of the group’s products, as well as its objectives, values, and philosophy. Currently, Castell d’Or has a production capacity of 20 million bottles, as well as a logistic warehouse of 1,840 square meters.
The President of Castell d’Or, Adrià Rabadà , wanted to highlight “the importance of the cooperative project for the territory and for the wine sector,” and added “that the main objective is to generate value so that viticulturists can live decently from the land.” The President emphasized the cooperative spirit that characterizes Castell d’Or, highlighting its role in the modernization and advancement of the agricultural sector.
Castell d’Or, the union of 16 wineries
Castell d’Or was born in 2005 from the union of different wineries from different wine regions of Penedès, Conca de Barberà , Priorat, Tarragona, Terra Alta, and Montsant. There are currently a total of 16 wineries that are part of one of Catalonia’s most representative groups. They work together, combining their efforts and knowledge in the production, packaging and distribution of wines, cavas, and olive oils, raising the standard of quality of their products to obtain recognition and prestige for their brands around the world.
