The Group made up of 16 cooperatives achieves two Grand Golds in two different designations of origin

Castell d’Or has been recognized at the 2025 edition of the Vinari Awards with a total of five medals, maintaining its position as a leading wine reference in Catalonia. The gala, hosted by Carlos Latre, was held on Friday, October 3 at the Casal Theater in Vilafranca del Penedès and honored the best wines of Catalonia based on blind tastings conducted by a professional jury.

One of the most notable achievements this year was winning two Grand Gold medals in different designations of origin:

  • Grand Gold for Castell d’Or Red Wine Trepat (DO Conca de Barberà), recognized as one of the best young red wines in Catalonia.

  • Grand Gold for Castell d’Or Cava Brut (DO Cava), a benchmark sparkling wine ranked among the best of the year.

These awards were complemented by three silver medals:

  • Castell d’Or Brut Organic (DO Cava), reaffirming the commitment to organic and sustainable viticulture.

  • Castell d’Or Cava Brut Nature (DO Cava), highlighting the most genuine expression of the territory.

  • Cossetània Cava Brut Reserva Organic 2022 (DO Cava), an elegant sparkling wine with pastry notes.

Castell d’Or’s CEO, Jordi Amell, collected the awards and emphasized: “These medals are the result of the collective effort and passion of our wineries. We are especially proud to be recognized both in the field of sparkling wines from DO Cava and in red wines from DO Conca de Barberà. This demonstrates the richness and diversity of our project.”

With these recognitions, the Vinari Awards continue to consolidate their position as a benchmark in the Catalan wine scene, while celebrating the diversity and quality of its wines and cavas. Through this competition, the work of both large and small wineries from all corners of the country is highlighted, contributing to showcasing the oenological wealth of Catalonia.

For Castell d’Or, which represents 16 cooperative wineries from across Catalonia, these awards mean much more than recognition of the quality of its wines and cavas: they are also a reaffirmation of a model based on collaboration, territorial diversity, and deep roots in the land.
