The Group that brings together 16 wineries from across Catalonia consolidates its leadership in quality and commitment to the Catalan wine-growing territory

Castell d’Or was one of the most awarded producers at the 2025 Vinari Awards first gala, held this Tuesday at the Rubí Cooperative Winery, as part of the competition that recognises the best young wines of Catalonia. With two Grand Gold medals and two Silver medals, Castell d’Or reaffirms its leadership in quality and winemaking within the Catalan wine scene. All awards are granted based on blind tastings by a professional jury.

Castell d’Or received the following recognitions:

  • Grand Gold for Castell d’Or Vi Negre Trepat (DO Conca de Barberà), recognised as one of the best young red wines in Catalonia.

  • Grand Gold for Castell d’Or Cava Brut (DO Cava), a benchmark sparkling wine ranked among the year’s best.

  • Silver for Castell d’Or Brut Orgànic (DO Cava), acknowledging its commitment to organic farming and sustainability.

  • Silver for Castell d’Or Cava Brut Nature (DO Cava), a dry sparkling wine that highlights the purest expression of the territory.

The CEO of Castell d’Or, Jordi Amell, received the awards and emphasised the collective work behind the project:

“This recognition comes at a crucial time for the sector, as we face many global challenges. Receiving these Vinaris is a major boost for us to continue supporting a cooperative model, rooted in the land and committed to quality. It also shows that it is possible to compete in excellence through unity, placing the vineyard and the people at the heart of the project.”

First phase before the grand final

The award ceremony —presented on this occasion by Pol Aluja, communicator for Aroma de Vi, and organised with the support of VADEVI.CAT— forms part of the first phase of the Vinari Awards, dedicated to young wines. However, the 2025 edition will not conclude until October, when the grand final gala will take place in Vilafranca del Penedès. That event will see the announcement of winners in all twelve official categories, along with the Best Wine and Best Sparkling Wine in Catalonia.

The Vinari Awards are made possible thanks to the support of the City Council of Rubí —home to the final tastings and the Vinari Wine Fair— as well as INCAVI, PRODECA, the Government of Catalonia, the City Councils of Vilafranca del Penedès and Sant Sadurní, and various sponsors.

For Castell d’Or, a group representing 16 cooperative wineries from across Catalonia, these awards carry profound meaning. They are not only a recognition of product quality but also of a production model based on collaboration, territorial diversity, and deep roots in the land.
