On November 10 and 11, the second edition of Cava Meeting took place in the Penedès (Barcelona), an international reference congress where industry professionals shared ideas, discussed the situation of Cava and international sparkling wines, and learned first-hand about the origin, future, and extraordinary quality of Cavas de Guarda Superior. This annual event, organized by the DO Cava, brought together producers, experts, institutions, and professionals to analyze the challenges and opportunities of a product that is a symbol of tradition, identity, and culture. Throughout the day, debates, round tables, and specialized tastings were held to highlight innovation, sustainability, and the collective commitment that defines the world of Cava.
Business or commitment?
In this context, Castell d’Or actively participated in the round table “Is DO CAVA just a business or also a commitment?”, moderated by Pedro Ballesteros MW. Representing the company, Jordi Amell, CEO of Castell d’Or, shared the debate with representatives of leading producing brands, providing a clear vision on the importance of commitment within the sector. In this sense, Amell highlighted the efforts and commitments of cooperative wineries, not only regarding environmental sustainability but also social sustainability, seeking a balance between production development, local development, and social justice. He also emphasized the exceptional future for the sparkling wines of our country, noting that CAVA is the only product that brings together the best of each of our competitors: the quality of champagne and the price of prosecco.
Prescribers’ visit
The following day, we also had the pleasure of hosting a group of prescribers, sommeliers, and journalists at our headquarters. The group, coordinated by DO Cava, learned more about Castell d’Or and Cava with Gonzalo Cle, Commercial Director of the group, and Halyna Skybnovska, Export Area Manager.
