This new equipment will enable the company to provide its customers around the world with a faster and more efficient service.

Vila-rodona, 12 September 2022 – Castell d’Or is set to start production on its new disgorgement line at its facilities in Vila-rodona (Alt Camp). Its new equipment includes a complete high- performance, high-quality bottling line. This new infrastructure represents an investment of 2.8 million euros.

The new line has been specifically designed to meet the requirements of Castell d’Or’s customers more speedily and efficiently, thus reducing product delivery times. This will further enhance the company’s customer service and substantially increase its production capacity.

With this new line, which is set to become operational in September, the company has already invested over 8 million euros since 2020 as part of a growth plan that positions it as one of the most modern and important cava producers in the region. Its facilities also include two new cava ageing cellars, a space in which it has centralised its management and admin departments, and a logistics warehouse. In total, Castell de Oro now has 15,000 m² dedicated to the production and sale of cava and wine.

Castell d’Or, the union of 16 wineries

Castell d’Or is the legacy of the first cooperatives founded at the end of the 19th century and turn of the 20th century. Today, we are a total of 16 cooperatives, representing more than 2,200 families who work the land with love and respect for nature. At Castell d’Or, we have been selecting the finest vines and using modern facilities to create exclusive, premium category wines since 2005.

Cava Castell d’Or is located in the Comtats de Barcelona area, a land of diverse landscapes, mainly composed of pretty valleys nestling in between low-lying mountain ranges. The grapes for Cava Castell d’Or originate from a region with a long tradition of winegrowing dating back more than 2,000 years. The proximity to the coast and the high altitude of some of the vineyards

– situated up to 750 m above sea level – create a diversity of microclimates resulting in a cava with a unique personality. Furthermore, thanks to the large expanse of the vineyards worked by our winegrowers, we are able to select only the choicest grapes from each sub-region
