Castell D’Or has also been recognised at the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles
Vila-rodona, 17 March 2021.- The Cava Cossetània Brut Reserva has won the gold medal at the MUNDUS VINI International Wine Awards held in Germany twice a year. The organisation has just published the results in which the quality of the Castell D’Or product has been acknowledged with this medal. The Cava Cossetània Brut Reserva has achieved this prize for the second consecutive year, in one of the most prestigious competitions in international winemaking, thus consolidating its recognition in the European market. This Cava, the gold medallist, is a coupage of the varieties Xarel·lo, Macabeu and Parellada, and is characterised by being fresh, pleasant, well-balanced and harmonious, with a good persistence and long aftertaste. It is fruity with floral and honey notes appearing later, very pleasant and typical of aging in bottle. A cava with unique expressivity and aromas.
This is the 28th edition of the MUNDUS VINI International Wine Awards (spring tasting). The competition was founded by the leading publisher in the winemaking sector Meininger Verlag and has become one of the most prominent competitions in the world of wine and cava. The importance of this contest both in Germany and in the rest of the world is evident in the fact that more than 11,000 wines are entered each year. The competition aims to foster quality and promote the marketing of the wines that are entered. Thus it is designed to provide a forum for the producers, vine growers, importers and consumers that, on one hand, enables them to compare the different wines to facilitate guidance in purchase decisions and, on the other, to reach a wider audience. The judging panel is made up of personalities with a solid reputation in the world of wine. They include: trained oenologists, excellent sommeliers, recognised specialised retailers with above-average knowledge of wine, specialised journalists and scientists from all over the world.

Castell D’Or, the union of 16 wineries
Castell D’Or began in 2006 with the union of various wineries in different winemaking areas of El Penedès, La Conca de Barberà, Priorat, Tarragona, Montsant and Costers del Segre. Currently, a total of 16 wineries make up one of the most representative groups of Catalonia.
