Castell d’Or, Official Sponsor of the Cambrils International Music Festival, Celebrates 50 Years of Culture, Territory, and Shared Enjoyment
The Cambrils International Music Festival (FIMC) is celebrating a very special edition this year: half a century of history, reflected in a programme that looks back to its origins in 1974, while also embracing modernity and cultural commitment. From July 30 to August 10, Cambrils will become the musical epicentre of southern Catalonia with a line-up that revives the festival’s original spirit — with a strong presence of classical music and opera — and includes top international, national, and Catalan acts across a wide variety of genres, from pop and rock to singer-songwriters, soul, jazz, and flamenco.
The festival programme features performances by Nil Moliner, Lax’n’Busto, Ainhoa Arteta, the international musical This is Michael, El Drogas, The Amy Winehouse Band, Chicuelo & Marco Mezquida, Maria del Mar Bonet, Carmina Burana, Quintet Montsant, Laura Simó & Francesc Capella Trio, Queralt Lahoz, and LaDinamo.
The full line-up was unveiled today at a press conference held at Hotel Sol Port Cambrils, attended by the mayor of Cambrils, Oliver Klein; the Director of Cultural Services of the Generalitat, Ricard Ibarra; the Councillor for Culture, Carlos Caballero; RGB Music producer Xavier Fortuny; the festival’s co-artistic director, Isaac Albesa; and the president of Coral Verge del Camí.
Tickets on sale: Thursday, April 10
Starting Thursday, April 10 at 10 a.m., tickets will be available at promotional prices through the official festival website www.festivaldecambrils.cat and the online platform www.codetickets.com, the only officially recognized sales channels. Three concerts already announced (Nil Moliner, Lax’n’Busto, and The Amy Winehouse Band) will have special launch prices available until April 21. Advance tickets for the rest of the concerts range from €18 to €42, with an additional €5 for tickets purchased at the box office on the day of the concert.
The 2025 edition of the Cambrils International Music Festival is organised by Girona-based production company RGB Music, winner of the public tender issued by the Cambrils City Council. RGB has the support of the Cambrils City Council, the Tarragona Provincial Council, the Government of Catalonia, and the sponsorship of DAMM, Castell d’Or, and Hotel Sol Port Cambrils.
Castell d’Or, committed to culture, territory, and the joy of sharing
As an official sponsor, Castell d’Or celebrates this 50th anniversary alongside the festival, reaffirming its commitment to the values that define both the event and the winery: a deep connection to the territory, the promotion of cultural expressions, and the pleasure of enjoying unique, collective experiences. For Castell d’Or, supporting the FIMC is a way of contributing to a cultural legacy that brings people together through music and emotion, just as a good glass of cava can accompany the most memorable moments.
A programme with strong female representation
One of the highlights of this 50th edition is the strong female presence on the artistic bill — a clear commitment to showcasing female talent and artistic sensitivity throughout the festival. Half of the performances will be led by women, as outlined in the public tender guidelines.
Honouring the legacy of the early years of the festival — which began in 1974 with a focus on classical music and powerful voices — this edition brings back that spirit with prestigious performers. Notable is the appearance of soprano Ainhoa Arteta, who will perform a highly expressive and intimate recital with pianist Javier Carmena on August 9, featuring carefully selected works by composers such as Falla, Granados, Obradors, Fauré, and Puccini.
Also in the spirit of celebrating this milestone, the Coral Verge del Camí — the original founders of the festival under the direction of Àngel Recasens in 1974 — will present a powerful rendition of Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana on August 5, accompanied by two pianos, a percussion ensemble, and multiple choirs.
Highlights and new additions
Maria del Mar Bonet returns to Cambrils after nearly 30 years, closing the concert series at the Parc del Pescador on August 3 with her acclaimed show 50 Years Since Olympia in Paris.
At the Parc del Pinaret, Chicuelo & Marco Mezquida will blend jazz and Mediterranean flamenco (August 1), followed by The Amy Winehouse Band and opening act The Winesoul (August 2). The musical tribute This is Michael (August 6), Nil Moliner’s new album (August 7), and the much-anticipated performance by El Drogas (August 8) will lead up to the closing night with Lax’n’Busto (August 10), performing one of only ten exclusive reunion shows with singer Pemi Fortuny.
Chamber music will be represented by the Quintet Montsant (August 4), formed by prominent musicians from the Camp de Tarragona, many of whom are connected to the Cambrils Municipal Music School. The programme also includes a jazz journey through the musicals of Leonard Bernstein by Laura Simó & Francesc Capella Trio (July 31).
A festival that reaches every corner
For the second consecutive year, the festival will decentralise its programme by bringing music to iconic locations around Cambrils. Two free opening concerts will be held at the Port of Cambrils: international Catalan artist Queralt Lahoz (July 30) and the energetic, mobile street performance by LaDinamo (July 31).
The return of the Village
From August 5 to 10 at the Parc del Pinaret, a grandstand with a capacity of 650 people and a Village area will be set up, opening each evening at 8 p.m. with food trucks, live music before the main concerts, and DJ sessions until 2 a.m. The full programme of the Village will be announced soon.
Co-artistic directors Xavi Fortuny and Isaac Albesa, together with the mayor of Cambrils and the Councillor for Culture, highlighted during the press conference that this 50th edition “will place Cambrils on the map of must-see summer festivals,” thanks to an eclectic, high-quality programme designed for all audiences and tastes, ranging from classical music to indie, pop, and funk.
